About Us

Dr. Vonie Austin-James is a native Barbadian, and has lived in the U.S. Virgin Islands for over thirty years. Vonie dedicated her life to God in 1976 and has been in the ministry ever since. She was handpicked as God’s Battle Axe and Weapon of War and is sent forth to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor and afflicted. To bind up and heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the physical and spiritual captives, and to set free those that are bound.

Dr. Vonie is the Founder/President of Women of Excellence International Ministries, Inc. which was birth in 1995. This ministry was founder to impact saved and unsaved persons to produce the spirit of excellence in every person that is touch through this ministry.

Dr. Vonie caters to hurting women nationally and internationally. She has traveled extensively to Aruba, Trinidad, Barbados, Antigua, Jamaica, St. Kitts, St. John, Broken Arrow and Oklahoma, also Burma in Southeast Asia and Greece ministering to the body of Christ. She resides in Florida and is still carrying out God’s mandate. 

She also provides counseling and encouragement that will allow persons to achieve economic prosperity, leadership, and professionalism so that they will serve their community with the spirit of excellence.  

Dr. Vonie is a retired sergeant of the Virgin Islands Police Department. She has been consecrated to being on the “cutting edge” as she serves God notably in the offices of Apostle, Prophetess, Evangelist, and Teacher with the gift of Discernment. 

Women of Excellence International Ministries ( "WOEIM")  was formed exclusively to serve as a kingdom -focused ministry offering charitable, religious, and educational programs for the benefit of the public. Our purpose consist of the following:

• To impact saved and unsaved persons to produce the spirit of excellence in every person that is touched through this ministry. 
• To provide opportunities for women, as individuals and in groups that they may grow in the knowledge of Christ through prayer, Bible Study, conferences, outreaches, and networking.
• To provide resources so women will continue to achieve economic prosperity. 
• To promote leadership and professionalism that the women may serve their community, and to experience the spiritual call of God in their lives. 
• To build retreat houses and transitional houses that will help to proactively influence and minister to the people and encourage, strengthen and challenge them in their roles as friends, spouses, prayer warriors and able ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To teach English as a Second Language to non- English speakers, to have computer classes and out-reaches that will help the less fortunate. 

 Our Vision

1. Provide food and clothing for the less fortunate and make referrals to charitable organizations
2. Teach English as a second language to non-English speakers 
3. Collaborate with Catholic Charities, Supermarkets, Goodwill and The Salvation Army to obtain food and clothing for the less fortunate and for job opportunities. 
4. Provide workshops and collaborate with business/lawyers to assist applicants with job opportunities and legal matters.
5. To provide transitional homes for women that have been incarcerated
6. To provide educational and religious training geared to empower children and adults
